East Midlands Canals

The Grantham Canal is being restored by an active group of enthusiasts. Of the rest, part of the Nottingham canal across the city between the two Trent links is navigable. The canals outside the Nottingham/Derby conurbations, being more rural, have been less redeveloped and are more traceable.

Canals covered:

  • Derby Canal

  • Nottingham Canal

  • Grantham Canal

  • Cromford Canal

  • Nutbrook Canal

  • Erewash Canal
